Love these bottle protectors! The inside is bubble wrap and the outside is thick flexible plastic. The bottom has a three-layer zip and Velcro closure in case the bottle breaks. Last week I traveled across the country (from Portland to New York) with a registered bag that contained six bottles of wine in these protectors, some extra bubble wrap and some clothing. To my delight and relief, the bottles arrived in perfect condition. (Compare this to a year ago, when I was traveling on a one-way two-hour flight out of California's wine country and checked a winery-filled case of wine. One bottle was smashed by the Transportation Security Administration's baggage claim belt, so I'm delighted with the performance of these protectors !) Definitely try them out.
