We don't camp per se, but a few times a year we go to a ranch deep on the West Texas border, and they absolutely need water there. . The Chihuahuan Desert and Chinati Mountains, combined with extreme temperatures, can create a serious dehydration problem very quickly. I usually pack two gallons per person in our saddlebags and off we go. Love the idea of having this walking water bag with a built in straw. The pouch itself is easy to see with clear camouflage printed areas so you know exactly how much water you have left. The straw has a removable lid and snaps back into place with a firm click so you know it's really closed. The filling hole is wide enough to fill with water from a hose or just a regular old kitchen faucet. I was surprised that the bag has absolutely no plastic or chemical smell. My issue is the lack of velcro or any straps to attach it to a backpack or belt. Essentially you need to carry it around or already have a backpack with existing straps or a pocket for a water pouch. If it even had a loop at the top I could clip it to my saddle or jacket - I rarely use a backpack when I'm on horseback so we'll have to upgrade something.
