As others have said they are definitely more durable which should help prevent them from breaking as easily as standard mounts. I got them for the Tippman Gryphon, only played about 5 games with it, 2 deep cleans with the stock latch, and the latch seems badly broken. It started with balls hitting the barrel causing double feed and now gradually triple feed causing the balls to hit each other and spatter down the barrel resulting in the need for frequent scrapers and accuracy issues (the griffin has since received as I was impressed with the accuracy). I have yet to play the game with these new retainers but I'm hoping this will solve my issues and that they last longer as they seem to be significantly stronger. I received a pack of 25 so I have enough to replace even if they don't last anymore.
