Review on JBL 220BT Wireless Neckband Headphones by Emmanuel Winschel

Weak on/off switch

I first bought these headphones about a year ago and have been using them for TV ever since. Until recently. The controls that turn the headphones on and off are so flimsy that they have completely stopped working, making these headphones completely unusable, although they are still fully functional in every other way. I suddenly find that when I press the power button it doesn't come back and the flashing white light letting you know it's working doesn't come on, so you can't pair the headphones to the TV. The controls on the JBL 220bt are built into a small piece of plastic that houses the volume up and down buttons in addition to the power button. Unfortunately, when the power button stops working, nothing else works in these headphones. The problem with the on/off button is probably that you have to use it to activate the headphones, so if you watch TV every day like I usually do, you'll use it every day. The occasional volume up and down doesn't cause much wear and tear on these buttons, but the power button eventually gives way to constant use. I'm replacing it with a JBL 200 which is cheaper and has a different on/off function than the JBL220bt and hopefully won't suffer the same fate and will last a lot longer.
