Worth the money

I have a 1996 Silverado K1500. I was pleased with how long it took the thermal actuator to engage my front axle so decided I am considering ordering a Dorman 600-101 actuator with this harness kit. For me it was worth the cost because it made everything so much easier than trying to find all the individual parts needed and assembling them into a harness. The kit also includes the steel spacer needed to make the Dorman 600-101 work with older trucks like mine. The wiring harness appears to be of good quality and easy to install except when it comes time to connect the brown wire. in the wiring harness of my truck. The instructions are clear enough to tell you what to do, but I had a hard time finding the right wire as the instructions don't have pictures of what you're looking for, just a few schematics. You are looking for a specific brown (BRN) wire connector. Yes, the wire is brown, but only in an academic sense. Actually, the wire just isn't as dark as the black wire next to it. Eventually I found what I thought was the right wire. The next problem was disconnecting it from the rest of the truck's wiring harness so I could connect it. Using a method refined through years of experience (perseverance and lots of swear words), I finally managed to splice wires. After going through all this frustration, I was even happier that I ordered this tourniquet rather than making my own as I didn't have any additional frustration. (Note: I took some pictures of where the BRN cable is on my truck and posted them here on Revain to help anyone considering this project.)
