I've had a hard time finding good color swatches of actual jacquard fabric colors (also on the product website) so I'm posting color swatches here. I bought Emerald Green which turned out to be the wrong shade - too grassy for my purposes; However, texture and opacity were more or less as expected. It's a nice, easy to apply, medium thickness color that isn't sticky. The color is quite intense and, as described, translucent and can be built up to full opacity, but works much better on light fabrics than on dark ones. I should note that I semi primed my blue and turquoise fabric first with some water thinned white gesso, since texture wasn't my #1 priority. As you can see in the sample photos on the BLACK fabric, the color won't show unless you paint over the white primer. Another disappointment is that the fabric becomes leathery like Fruit Roll-Up. So far I have tried 3 different jacquard colors: Dye-Na-Flow, Lumiere and Textile Color. If you are interested in the difference between the three lines: ---- Dye-Na-Flow. Wonderful; almost like dye or ink, and it penetrates whatever you draw without changing the texture of the fabric. Very transparent. (e.g. azure looks blurry dark turquoise on olive fabric). It dries very quickly and I didn't even heat set it as my item didn't need to be washed. If you're going from light to dark ideal for solid color upholstery (but not 2+ colors as it bleeds/bleeds through seams/curbs very easily). ---- Lumiere. Disappointing. Semi-transparent but buildable. The shade I got (True Gold) wasn't impressive metallic at all (ugly khaki, not very reflective). Same texture as Textile Color but much thicker than Dye-Na-Flow. Will slightly change the texture of the fabric but not as much as acrylic paint with fabric medium. ----Textile color. Absolutely normal. translucent; can be diluted with plain water for a clear wash or mixed with Dye-Na-Flow or other textile dyes. Changes the texture of the fabric (similar to leather but maybe a little less than acrylic paint plus fabric medium). Potentially good for upholstery painting, when you have to go from dark to light even though i didn't. I haven't dared to try it yet. The two photos of the fabric jewelry plate below show how the brocade went from dark blue turquoise (previously changed from ugly olive to dark turquoise with Dye-Na-Flow) to light turquoise-blue turquoise. with a mixture of Dye-Na-Flow Azure Blue and Textile Color Emerald Green. However, I would like to highlight the fact that before repainting I used a thin coat of water thinned white gesso to knock out some of the navy blue. A layer of clean white helped bring the new color to life, but I didn't care how it stiffened the fabric) with a mix of Dye-Na-Flow Azure Blue and Textile Color Emerald Green.
