I've always tried using vampire ribbons on 12 gauge (low voltage) wire and it was very disappointing. The ones with the headlights aren't coming. The ones I bought at premium price don't work. I didn't have big enough wire nuts or I would have turned to them (4 wires 12 gauge with thick insulation). Then I discovered these lever nuts from WAGO. IMPRESSIVE! What a time saver. I was able to hook up a 4-way junction in minutes. Then, after testing, I put waterproof liquid tape all over the block (actually there are 2 of them). This is a low voltage (12V) cable. Even if it does get wet it's not a big problem but I wanted to keep the interior as corrosion free as possible. The headlights work - for the first time - without problems. No flickering, no dimming, no sudden loss of power. I watched them during a rainstorm and again no problem so the waterproofing probably worked. If I ever need a repair, I simply remove the old plug and plug in a new one – very simple. Much easier than trying to use vampire roosters that only bend on thick insulation.
