The fabric of the upper itself is waterproof, but the stitching that connects it to the waterproof rubber sole is waterproof not waterproof. They work with thin socks, which is fine as they look so warm on their own. But with the water problem and the landing problem, it's just not worth the hassle. Overall this seems like a good product if your puddles are no deeper than 2 inches. The "waterproof" upper is great for shedding snow, but doesn't hold up in very deep puddles. Try talking about it with a 2 year old!
