Review on Conair SelfGrip Rollers Assorted Colors, Differentiated Roller Sizes (Largest in Mauve), 31 Count by Misty Caldwell

Good quality, cheap reel set, just make sure your expectations are realistic.

The most important thing I can mention in this review is this: DO NOT buy these curlers hoping that they will make your hair look like the model's hair on the package the first time. Give them a try because unless you are a professionally trained barber who knows exactly how to use them properly, I promise you won't. That aside this is a great no frills velcro roller set at a very reasonable price and I personally found them to be exactly what I was looking for, very happy with this purchase and would definitely recommend trying them out. It's also worth noting that figuring out the best way to make these things work with your own hair is definitely something to learn. My hair type is closest to 2B (fine textured medium density strands, very wavy/some curls with lots of natural volume) and I've had the most success with these rollers when I do the following in this order: I wash my hair and towel dry them Apply products while wet as a mousse and heat protectant, blow dry completely with a round brush, part hair into 11/12 strands and then work just one strand at a time, starting at the top of the head, I use an 11 diameter 1/2 inch curling iron to curl each to heat the section of hair before quickly wrapping it around the curler from face to scalp and clipping in to cool and set. I usually leave the curlers on for about 15-20 minutes before removing them and spraying the hair with hairspray, but those with naturally straight or thick and heavy hair may need to leave them on longer or use a different heat cycle. from the hair dryer so that the hair keeps its shape longer. I would not recommend using these curlers on wet/damp hair as it can cause tangles, extra frizz and possible damage to your hair. If you are trying to avoid applying heat, simply apply the product to damp hair and air dry as usual. Wait until about 80-90% dry before parting and curling in curlers, then allow curly hair to dry completely at least 30min-1 hour before removing videos.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Too long to wait
