Charges but stays disconnected

The cable that came with the Surface when I first bought it had a strong magnetic connection so it stayed on the tablet. This cord falls out at the slightest touch, requiring you to position it correctly to use it or reconnect and charge the battery to use it. I think I'll just tape it down with duct tape.
