It is what it is

I never write reviews. Is always. But I feel obligated to do so now so that future buyers of this canvas know what they are getting into. Bought this brand twice. First in 16x20 and then in 12x12. To be clear, this is a school-age canvas at best. At worst, it is twisted, deformed and irreparable. Let's start with the fact that it's paper thin and plaster of paris isn't much better. That's to be expected at the price. So be sure to fix it up with something like GAC 100 and then put on a few good coats of drywall. If you do, you'll have something to lean on. But before you do that, order some Canvas Keys. and be careful. The canvas sags so much that it looks more like a parachute than a painting surface. Yes, it's an exaggeration, a parachute. but not much. Because it sags like that, the keys - at least the ones I bought - break through the edge of the canvas easily. Here you will be reminded of the expression "paper thin". I kept forgetting, so I kept boxing. It's all up to me. So learn from my mistakes. Finally. the stretcher frame on the larger canvas is so deformed that I might just throw it away. I've added some photos to show what I mean by warp. Oh, I almost forgot: I found a case where the manufacturer inserted a bracket into the stretcher from the side of the canvas. BETWEEN canvas and stretcher! It came off and made a hole. The good news is that the parachute issue mentioned above allowed me to get in there and pull the prop out without puncturing the canvas. So, you win something, you lose something. My conclusion: if you have any expectations of doing anything with this coming canvas, do yourself a favor and buy something better. If you're like me and only care about color, do yourself a favor and buy something better.
