I've seen string lights, but these top the cake! I can't express the quality with which they're made, as far as residential applications go. They're very substantial in weight and drape nicely. There's a 38" space/gap between each bulb socket, and each extends/hangs roughly 7" from the main cord with the bulb installed. All sockets have a molded hook above for securing to the wall, rafter, or post. There's only 2 feet of cord length from the last socket to the plug, so you may need to invest in a good outdoor extension cord depending on where you intend to use these. I purchased the Woods 32555 Outdoor Remote Control Outlet Converter Kit to go with it. So glad I did! Our patio now has the most warm and inviting feeling. These bulbs put out just the right amount of warm light for a relaxing feel, but certainly enough light to work by.i.e.Barbequing, Card Games, etc Overall, I expect these to last a very long time. Buyrite the first time, instead of buying down and replacing every couple of years.
