The fan is quieter than the 500w version
I have a Shuttle XPC SZ77R5 with a 500w PSU. Unfortunately, the fan in this standard 500W PSU is quite noisy. I only use onboard video so thought I might swap out the 500w PSU for a 300w PSU that would hopefully have a quieter fan. Shuttle tech support said it wouldn't fit, but I ordered it anyway. It fits perfectly (exactly the same size as the 500w fan), performs exactly as I hoped it would, and is much quieter than the 500w PSU fan.
