Note that a small pet or child will likely be able to push through the gate by crawling under the floor as it cannot be closed without some force , even if it is locked position. There is a gap at the bottom where the net doesn't touch the ground, leaving room to escape. Luckily, although my dogs are very small, they don't get too close to the gate to realize that "give in" is enough to get them through. A gate of some sort is enough to deter them. If the child or pet you are buying this gate to protect is small enough, inquisitive and not afraid to explore the gate or instinctively stay away from the gate, this gate is not for you. Most likely he/she will realize that he/she can crawl underneath and get out of the enclosed space. Follow the not-so-easy-to-follow instructions and use your common sense and you won't have any trouble installing. I love that you get two sets of fixings so you can use the same gate in two different areas (although obviously not at the same time as you only get two sets of fixings, not two gates). The feed mechanism feels solid and I have a feeling it will last a long time. I like that it is lockable and the gate is easy to open and close even with one hand. It goes well with my decor because it is white and goes well with the wooden elements. It is definitely more aesthetically pleasing than the natural imitation wood gate contrasting against a white background. The included spacers also make it easier to install in an uneven opening (e.g. a baseboard below). Delivered on time, well packaged, no damage and with all the necessary parts. So far I'm happy with the gate after a week of use. It suits my specific needs well and is one of the nicest gates I have ever seen/used.
