At first I thought this extension would go well with my new headphones. Now there is a sound similar to "Hall". Sounds like an echo. It's not the headphones or the PC as I've tried both on different devices and they work fine. If I take out the cable extension, it works fine. Plug it back in and an echo will appear. TO UPDATE. I found this cable to be technically fine except that it doesn't work with my headphones. If you have a standard headset without a microphone, this cable will work. Since this cable had 2 rings, it was not properly connected (no fault of your own). I called the headphone manufacturer and they explained why. My headphones are Klipsch. They have a built-in microphone and therefore a 3-ring 4-wire cable. What I really needed was a "3-ring 3.5mm 4-wire mini stereo cable + M/F EXTENSION microphone or video cable". Moral of the story - make sure the extension cord you buy has the same number of rings or tabs on the end of the cord. Cable.
