I've had this monitor for about 2 weeks now and switching from 60Hz to 144Hz FreeSync has completely changed the way I enjoy gaming. It breathed new life into games I had lost interest in. As far as "calibrating" the monitor, I've done a lot of research and played around with the settings and this monitor is capable of delivering pretty good HDR and even if you're not using HDR a lot of people really like the fps color mode that this monitor offers. Personally, I tend to tweak my hardware settings, so this monitor's "hdri" modes, which automatically adjust to light levels, are a godsend. I left my monitor set to "Game Hdri" which emulates HDR and adjusts colors and contrast on the fly so I don't have to do the monitor setup myself. It can be a bit dark compared to adjusting the settings, but when I turn up the brightness in my games the monitor looks amazing compared to the default settings. I switched from Gaming Hdri to default settings and everything looked blurry in comparison (although that blurry image still looked way better than the 7 year old monitor it replaced). Overall I'm very happy I bought this monitor and it was the best upgrade I've ever made to my computer. I don't know why I'm still using my almost ten year old monitor when the monitor is arguably the most important part of a gaming computer.
