Review on πŸ”ͺ Havalon #60XT Stainless Steel Replacement Blades - Bulk Pack of 100 by Ramesh Eastep

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Excellent quality medium blade

Blades are great and much cheaper than Havalon. They're a little thicker than the 60 xt Havalon I've used before, so they're a little harder to remove. I've had the Havalon for a few years now and when I got it I was (and am) using 22xt. Blades that need to be removed with pliers. My buddies bought the 60 xt about 4 years after I got my knife and I realized they can take it off with their hands. They gave me one to try and I was able to easily take it off my knife too. They fall somewhere in between in terms of detachability, but I'm not sure why all 60xt blades aren't the same. Different manufacturer? The blade and blade quality is exactly the same as 12 Havalon branded blades in a pack, only many times cheaper. blunt I was hoping to get dual use from them as a blade for capping and for skin preparation/thinning, but I still prefer the curved point of the 21st (general preference varies by point). I would really give them 5 stars if they were a little easier to remove. However, I think my friends' blades are too loose to use for precision use, so this should be taken into account when making a purchasing decision. Personally I prefer a tighter fit like the 22xt when doing precision work but since they were bought for boning I wanted them to be easy to change out which is why they got a star.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
