The description says 'hidden arch support'. This has to be a marketing ploy to say there is no arch support as these shoes have no arch support. Good padding on the heel but a little lumpy. Good cushioning. But if you look at the picture of the shoe, you can see that the dark brown color on the show indicates that the arch support is just a decoration. That's all. What you see on the white sole is the support you have inside. I bought the Vionics because I had a pair of orthoheel sandals with amazing arch support. I'm disappointed that not all Vionics are created equal.
