All other short (length) and flat shelves are designed to fit over the toilet tank or between the washer and dryer with very little load capacity. I bought these shelves because of their size and the advertised load capacity of 200 pounds per shelf, 600 pounds total. I think a 600lb load capacity would be optimistic, but I've split about 200lbs evenly across all three shelves and it's all rock solid. Even if I press a corner or try to rotate the device, nothing moves. For those reviewers who think the shelves aren't strong, I suggest checking the split plastic grommets (Item "A" in the assembly instructions) fully seated in the tubes at all corners of all shelves. When the sleeves are where they should be, press or tap each corner of each shelf firmly to make sure everything is in place. Unfortunately, there is no "click" or "click" to let you know when everything is aligned. The box arrived on time, without damage, all parts are in stock.
