I am using this on a Samsung Series 9 Subnotebook which has a micro HDMI port. I already had an HDMI to DVI cable that was used on a previous laptop; a nice thick cable (it turns out you need thicker cables to convert HDMI to DVI). I tried one of those thin cable HDMI to DVI dongles (Micro HDMI to HDMI), but the quality (or lack thereof) of the dongle and thin HDMI cable meant it didn't work properly at all. I connected this device then added my HDMI to DVI cable and the results are great. I suspect this will work just as well with a standard HDMI cable to an HDMI monitor. Factor in the price and it's very hard to beat!
