I recently moved into my building at work and used my mouse on a different type of surface that didn't respond well to movement. I decided to go ahead and try this mouse and it works perfectly right out of the box. This immediately fixed an issue I was having with another mouse. I don't play with it as I have a separate mouse at home for that purpose, so I can't say how well it will work there. The mouse feels very comfortable and was plugged in and working so there was no driver to look up. I can't comment on the battery life since I have lithium batteries, so I probably won't have to worry about that for a while. Time.
