This is a good machine for the price. Draft beer tastes better than bottled beer. If I had my own kegs I would buy a unit that would hold all the other mini kegs, but these units are much more expensive and complicated, use more power and require additional cartridges. It's a simple and inexpensive device and if you don't mind Heineken or Newcastle flavors it's excellent value for money. It's a big hit at parties. Friends who come are just thrilled. Cons: Mini kegs are hard to find, and the local buffet only stocks Heineken, not Light or Newcastle. And these are the only mini kegs compatible with this device (they're carbonated so you don't need an extra CO2 canister). There are vague links to YouTube videos of conversion kits you can use other kegs or homebrew with, but it seems like a lot of work. If you only drink Pliny the Elder or are another beer snob, this device is not for you. Beer pipes are single use and cannot be reused. You also have to throw away the taps that come with mini kegs, right? Has anyone successfully used these faucets or modified them for use in a brewery? The brewer's hoses appear to be longer than they should be and you have to bend them somehow to make them fit. That confuses me. Knowing that there are exactly "x" inches from the center of the barrel to the faucet, why not make the pipes the same length? Is there a risk that high pressure will lead to excessive foaming if the resistance in the hose is lower? There aren't any photos showing the correct placement of the beer teeth, so I'm not sure I'm placing them correctly. The beer mixer closes and the beer comes out fine, so I guess it doesn't really matter, but it would be easier if you didn't have to twist the keg and hose to get it right into the faucet channel. .Beer tubes come with the Heineken label only. party foul! What if I want the one Newcastle says? Too bad. I couldn't find anyone who would give mini kegs for recycling. Not processing stations and not Bevmo. I encourage you Krups, Heineken and Newcastle to come up with a greener option. Your vendors who sell kegs should take them back. They should be able to recycle and reuse kegs and beer hoses. Right now my solution is to just throw them in my town trash can and pray they know what to do with them.
