I was skeptical about this purchase just because of the price, they work but some products are better than others. I have sealed tuna steaks that didn't look that wet but my sealer pulled a lot of water out of them which got into the top of the bag and after a few tries the bag didn't seal properly, I managed to reseal them all a few tries. The pouches have protrusions on one side, but they don't feel as big as a food storage pouch, making it easier for liquid to reach the top of the pouch (that's just my opinion). I also sealed the ground beef, which worked perfectly. I have purchased both quart (8"x12") and pint (6"x10") packs, the quart packs surprised me as they are larger than I expected. It was easy for me to seal 1 pound portions of ground beef in a quart bag. Not a big deal but others have also mentioned the lack of space for food labeling, I've marked the smooth side of the bag with a permanent marker while it seems to work. The material seems quite thick, they work in my typical food seal, they are really comfortable because one side is already sealed and I would buy this product again.
