Of course, the closer you get to this microphone, the better the sound quality. The build quality is actually very good. The body of the microphone is all metal and looks solid. The bag that comes with the microphone is also of very good quality and offers good protection for the devices inside. The shock mount is actually one of the most effective shock mounts I've seen on a budget mic. On the back there is a switch for use with a regular camera or with a smartphone, which is very convenient. You get both a standard foam windscreen and a fluffy "dead cat" windscreen, which was pretty effective in my testing. There is no battery in this battery, so the sound quality is directly related to the audio quality of the preamp. -Amps in your camera. Just something to note.
