Review on Convenient and Durable: Rugged Ridge 13551.09 Black CB Radio Dash Mount by Mike Travers

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great product that also has a very good handheld mic mount and works almost perfectly for the 18ft coax on the passenger side.

Installed with the Uniden PRO520XL CB Radio. Absolutely no problems installing between the door/dash/windshield and no problems installing the 520 in the space provided (the 520 bracket fits directly into this bracket). This is one of the easiest setups (CB Full Setup) I've done on my 03 TJ. This kit also came with a handheld CB mic mount (not actually listed) that fits between the steering column and the radio/center console. This was a pleasant surprise as it is of good quality and fits perfectly by simply removing the factory screws. Someone mentioned in the review that they wouldn't install a handheld mic because it would hit the right knee. I'm 6ft 2in and in practice that's not a problem. I installed an antenna mount (Teraflex rear passenger brake light). mount--http://amzn.com/B006D9W29Y ) in the back right, and the added bonus is that I only have about a foot of extra coax cable (18 feet) left after running everything from the CB to the antenna. Dash (under the vent cover that runs the full length of the dash) to the right A pillar (easy to remove with 4 screws including the passenger fascia mount), went into the roll bar cover to the back of the passenger seat, down the vertical roll bar until I touch the right rear carpet (easy to remove/reinstall) until I get to the right rear of the car. right side perfect) and then took an extra foot or so of coax cable and pushed it further between the carpet and the right rear wheel. New carpet and everything. The coax cable is hidden all the time until it pops out of the carpet and also over the tailgate to the antenna.
