I needed a mount that would fit the vertical air vent on a GMC truck. Unfortunately, this model sticks out too much and interferes with the shifter on the steering column. I'm using an iPhone 7 with a fairly thin case. I was forced to move the mount to one of the air vents on the passenger side. Far for practice. Since it sticks out quite a bit, I found that if I make a curve in the vertical vents, it rotates. The handle of this mount is not sufficiently retained in the vertical opening. When you tighten the clip, the pressure holding the fastener in place is at the very end of the pad to capture ventilation and is distributed unevenly across the pad. Because it's only held by the tip of the pad, the entire mount slides down the vent until it falls off at the next pothole. If the magnets were a bit stronger I would recommend it for at least horizontal ventilation but I can't. Its parts seem solid, but they're just poorly designed for vertical ventilation. I will continue to look for a model with better grip and a lower profile.
