Very pleasantly surprised by the quality. The fabric is thick but not bulky. The straps are sewn well, they look durable. The zipper is well made. The laptop compartment is lightly padded with a Velcro closure to keep your laptop in place. I have HP 17.3, it fits. I had to remove the USB mouse from my laptop to fit. The other part is very spacious. I put in a notepad, calendar, novel, hardcover notepad (small book), 2 pens and a mouse and there was still room. It was simply closed with a zipper.
