Very happy with this item

I always pack for light backpacking as I want to get away from car camping. That means no heavy camping stoves or propane tanks. I tried this thing out last weekend and I love it. Good engineering, good materials, folds into a thin 6" x 6" square box that literally fits in a jacket pocket. Besides, the thing just works. Incredibly good too. We used up a small piece of solid fuel since it was raining and we didn't have super dry kindling, and we had a roaring fire under this tripod wok in less than a minute. If I hadn't been lazy I could easily start a fire without the solid fuel insert, it would just take a few more minutes. Also, it's absolutely essential that you MUST have something served from the side, not the top, if you want to use the Rocket Stove to cook your food instantly and keep the grill hot so you don't have to remove the pot from above to feed him. I also bought a smaller top loader from Amazon and cooking with it is annoying and not worth it. I didn't use the top for balancing pots as it was only used as a heat source for the wok so I can't speak to stability that way, but it was incredibly durable as a standalone heat source. TIPS: - Like many of these rocket stoves, it works TOO well. Sucks fuel like a beast. While there are pictures of people inserting small logs (which you can definitely do since the feeding hole is very large), I think you just take a ton of small sticks and break them into 5 inch long branches. Results in a hotter fire than whole logs. You need to feed constantly about every minute of cooking. When assembling, first connect the sides into a flat chain, and then wrap it around the bottom. I think it's easier to combine. However, I didn't have any build problems like other people. If you enjoy hiking in the wilderness and don't want to make a big fire every morning to feed people, this is an absolute must!
