These small, fully automatic motion detectors were a pleasant surprise. Just insert 3 AAA batteries and place them wherever you want! They come with a magnet already attached to the case AND double-sided tape to attach to non-magnetic surfaces. I live in a house with a very dark hallway. It was difficult to get the key in the lock to open or lock the door in the dark, and if someone came to the door I couldn't see who it was through the peephole. So I hung one over the peephole on the door. Both problems are now solved! The light is not super bright, but sufficient. And that completely automatically. It turns on by itself when you get to the door and turns off by itself too :) Good value for money. I can recommend it :)
