60GB Solid State Drive (SSD) upgrade! :)

After a bad experience with another brand, my search for another 60GB SSD found this drive. Pros: + Not too expensive and shipping was free. + Very good customer ratings. + Easy installation. I used Casper 8.0 to clone my existing hard drive.+ This drive works great with a PATA (IDE) to SATA adapter.+ Faster system boot up. So I had to use a PATA (IDE) to SATA adapter. Access to the SSD is so fast that the disk activity indicator is almost useless. Solid state drives wear out over time because each cell in a flash memory bank can only be written to and erased from a finite number of times. I don't need an SSD, but I wanted to try one. As I wrote before, my first experience with another brand was unsuccessful. The first was DOA and the second booted twice before giving me a "blue screen" and a "disk read error"! After the second exchange, the seller offered to refund my money, which worked for me! I always use multiple hard drives in my computers to defend against Murphy's Law. This 60GB SSD will be my C: or boot drive. As a backup, I mounted my old C: drive but left it unplugged. I think if this SSD dies, I can quickly connect the old HDD. :) I have an older motherboard, so I had to use this PATA (IDE) to SATA adapter: SATA to IDE/PATA converter adapter (motherboard with hidden SATA interface DVD burner to IDE) β–Ί Updated 30 December 2014, I have 2 of these Now I always have a cloned backup. For a low-end SSD, that didn't give me any problems! I like them enough to install Kingston HyperX 3K 240GB SSDs in our new gaming PC build. :)
