Beelink has created a true GT-R Mini PC by harnessing the incredible performance and TDP of the Ryzen 3550H processor. I originally bought this device as a media computer/server, but it's powerful enough that I'll probably use it to help set up a Minecraft server (a very CPU intensive application). It's incredible to work with the integrated graphics (AMD Vega 8). Play on Steam and you can easily use it as your main gaming system. Whether you are short on space or want to install this unit in your living room as an entertainment center, it will meet your needs and expectations. My main issue with this tiny device was thermals. I saw restricted ventilation on the device and was concerned that the device would overheat and the CPU would slow down. The PC started with a base temperature of 73.9 F and levels off at 85.8 F when idling. It was absolutely silent and you wouldn't even notice him in the room. As soon as I started putting pressure on the CPU, I noticed the fan running at high speed. The fan got louder, but didn't bother us. And the temperature never went above 96F and the processor didn't degrade performance. As long as the device is placed in a location with high airflow, I don't expect any temperature issues. Out of curiosity, I ran a quick Geekbench test to see the processing power of this little giant and see how far I could get. That. It scored a remarkable 878 single-core / 2875 multi-core. Based on these capabilities, I plan to test more CPU intensive workloads on the device. They also managed to add an SSD and HDD to the system. An incredible feat given the size limitations. This gives your SSD incredible performance for frequently used programs and high-capacity storage for data archiving. Although the memory is only DDR4 8G, you can easily access and upgrade more RAM. Only one of the two slots is occupied, leaving plenty of room for expansion. There is also an empty m.2 SATA slot that can be quickly expanded with an optional SSD. When upgrading, pay attention to the increased heat output of the device. Note I've attached images with disassembly instructions for easy updates =) I'll be working on additional use cases for the GT-R to make better use of CPU power.
