Steps are not tracked automatically

I probably like the watch, just didn't expect it. Pros: No issues connecting to the phone, it seems to accurately measure temperature and heart rate, and shows the time. Displays incoming messages and everything is fine. So everything seems to be working except that steps are NOT auto-tracked as stated in the description. It seems the only way to track steps is to switch to sport mode and press start while running, walking or cycling. Otherwise, your steps will not be tracked. And in sport mode, it uses GPS for tracking, which eats up a lot of battery. As such, it won't work as a pedometer all day unless you keep it in sport mode the whole time, which isn't practical as the battery will drain too quickly. As this was the main reason I bought it, I am disappointed. But depending on what you use it for, it could work great for you. I just wanted and expected it to track my steps throughout the day. I used a pedometer app on my phone, but I didn't want to carry my phone with me all the time, so I figured it would be easier to wear a watch that syncs with my phone. But it doesn't seem to sync with the Pedometer app or even Apple's Health, where it tracks steps. I walk around with the watch on, but the pedometer on the phone doesn't work. Looks like I still have to take my phone with me. So I'm giving 4 stars because it's good quality, but removing one star because it doesn't auto-track steps as the description says - only if you're using sport mode, which uses GPS and drains the battery. . If there is a way to easily automatically count steps throughout the day, I hope the seller will contact me and help me figure it out.
