Review on EEZ Y Windproof Travel Umbrellas Rain: Stay Protected and Dry on Your Travels by Felicia Evans

My rating is based solely on the amazing customer service experience. I have previously purchased two EEZ-Y Windproof Double Canopy umbrellas and have had to agree with many of the positive reviews. This is a top notch product and given my personal experience in downtown Los Angeles it can get very windy and this idea was put to the test. While some of my colleagues and others use other poor quality products that tend to break in Santa Ana winds, my umbrellas endure gusts of wind without breaking. It is very durable and easy to start when you press the "open and close" button. Here's why I believe you should buy or try this product. Unfortunately one of my EEZ-Y screens failed and I didn't fully understand the cause until I contacted EEZ-Y customer service. I registered my umbrella and emailed them through their website for warranty assistance. The open/close button worked and still works, but what "we" did wrong was that we didn't press the open/close button to close the umbrella as recommended by the EEZ-Y . You will notice from my photos that without following the instructions he pushed out a white thread that helps the mechanism that closes the umbrella. Well a year went by and I figured there was no way I was going to replace or fix it. A few hours later, a customer service rep, Olivia, told me not to worry about it. She offered a NEW umbrella free of charge for using her product. It was absolutely amazing and I am now a regular customer of EEZ-Y umbrellas. I have recommended this wonderful company to my family and friends. I saved the second umbrella and will try to fix it but was told to just throw it away as the mechanism is broken. Worth a try. Here's what Olivia from EEZ-Y told me: "As far as I can see, the automatic open/close mechanism is broken. The white threads are torn out and cannot be pulled back by hand. This problem usually occurs when you manually close the umbrella. and not by pressing the button on the handle. Pressing the open button on the handle opens the umbrella. Pressing the button again only closes the canopy but does not retract the handle. To properly close the umbrella, take your palm and place it on top of the umbrella, on the small round plastic cover at the top. Slide both ends toward the center until you hear a click. Please do not close the umbrella by holding the ribs. Very basic but I'm sure I'm not the only one who can or will have problems using the product incorrectly. I'm glad I contacted EEZ-Y and will definitely take care of my new umbrella from now on.
