I was born in 1985. We had these Little People toys when we were in elementary school, they were durable and great quality. Fisher Price has never disappointed me. I have my own baby who is 8.5 months old but has grown a bit and needs toys for a slightly older age group. I bought it because I thought it would be good for creative game development in the future. I was very disappointed in the quality of the toy. It is not as durable as the old one made many years ago. People don't walk like they used to. The lift to bring the car up requires a lot of strength that a 1.5 year old would probably never have. The side lift also requires a lot of effort, so I figured it was going to break. I'm just a little disappointed in these products. I realize it's been more than 30 years but for the price we pay for these toys and the brand you want to trust you would think they are of a higher quality. That's right, I'll keep the toy myself. I will encourage every single one of my children/nieces/friends to play with the toy. However, if you have the opportunity to buy it used from someone on sale, I don't think it's necessarily worth the price it's being sold for. Or just find an old one in your parents' attic and give it to your kids.
