Review on AOC 22E1H: Flicker-Free, Energy Star Compatible HD Monitor with Tilt Adjustment and Wall Mount Option by Mike Schaeffer

Revainrating 5 out of 5

What do you expect + dual monitor troubleshooting history

This is the second AOC 24E1Q monitor I've bought to have a matching set. I was having issues with my old AOC monitor when setting up my new 24E1Q as a second monitor, so I wanted to see if two identical monitors would fix the issue (see bottom of review). I chose the 24E1Q precisely because my graphics card supports multiple DisplayPort connections. The ultra-thin bezel means the transition from primary to secondary is virtually seamless. I'm not a technical expert when it comes to monitors, but I can say that the colors are crisp, it arrived with no burnt-in pixels and it's bright. I play video games on this monitor (not first person shooters) and don't notice any lag or lag. It's a good monitor in my opinion and has spoiled me for using my laptop because I'm now used to having all the screen real estate that comes with having two monitors that big side by side. I can't talk about the technical specifications, but I'm definitely happy with it! story time. I originally had an AOC E2429SWHE and the AOC 24E1Q was bought for me as a Christmas present from another seller (I think it was NewEgg?). It arrived pixelated and I had to send it back (not good, very happy Revain was fully functional right out of the box). The replacement had no dead pixels, but the lag when using it as a second monitor was something of an abomination; I couldn't even move a blank notepad from one screen to another smoothly. My tech savvy friend and I couldn't figure out why it wouldn't work so I turned it off and figured next time I had money to spend I'd buy another one to see if two of them fix it would. because then they have the same properties. Well the one I bought from Revain arrived and had the same lag issue. Googling I found that there is an old Windows process called "dwm.exe" that is trying to handle multiple displays, which looks like it conflicts with how the graphics card is trying to handle multiple displays to process. A little later, the task manager "killed the dwm.exe process" (it kept restarting) and all the lag was gone! Problem solved! The color scheme has been changed to the Windows default, but that's a small price to pay for the lack of lag. Now I'm so spoiled about having two equally beautiful monitors that I keep both and use my original monitor as a backup (unless I decide two monitors aren't enough and set it up as a third monitor). , haha!). All in all this is a good monitor that has arrived fully functional and will spoil you with the amount of screen real estate you have! I am definitely satisfied with my purchase.
