Review on Portable Meino Trio Go 14" Monitor Display Compatible by Jacob Bailey

I wanted to love it but design flaws ruined everything

I thought I found a solution to all my remote work problems, but unfortunately it didn't last long. I don't have a workbench or desk installed but I need a second screen so I figured this would be the best solution as I can attach and detach it depending on my work for the day. Unfortunately, the key mechanism used to attach the screen to the computer is broken. The magnets used are incredibly strong, but the sticky adhesive used to hold the magnets in place on the back of the screen and computer just isn't strong enough to withstand the force of the magnets. After a while the magnets detach from the adhesive (both on my laptop and the screen itself) and allow it to fall off. Obviously this is far from ideal and causes significant disruption throughout the workday as I have to try to catch it before it hits the ground. They provide extra sticky glue dots which is nice but I have already replaced the glue on all 4 magnets on my laptop and the screen itself once and now all 4 need to be replaced again. In less than a year I've changed the standard glue and two additional replacement glues. For a $300 screen, this just shouldn't happen. Quality for the price just isn't here. Even wires are cheap. The USB cable is kinked in the wire case, and while it still works, the screen goes on and off from time to time while I'm doing something. It only lasts a second, but it's still annoying and slows down overall performance. do i wanna love it Yes but I do not want to. Is it worth the money? No, you can find cheaper alternatives that work just as well. Will i buy it again? Probably no.

Pros
  • It was a lot bulkier than I expected but didn't have any functional issues.
Cons
  • Very heavy for what it is... I like the clarity of the screen.
