I believe these covers can protect your propellers and even your quad on the very rare occasions you need them. I wouldn't rely on her alone. Safe flying still needs to be practiced. Not sure when you might need sentries as the EVO2 is such a good drone with all the sensors in all directions. However, if you want to "live dangerously" and possibly switch off the sensors (for whatever reason), the guards come along. a certain level of comfort and safety for the pilot. They're not very strong or thick, but for what they're designed for I think they're fine. I personally wouldn't want to be in a situation where I need them, but a little extra security never hurts. As for installation, it's not difficult at all. You just have to follow the instructions carefully. The only thing I would mention is that the buckles are quite tight so you have to pry them open quite a bit when you first install them. One downside I see is that you have to detach the drone every time you store it in a case. for storage as you can no longer fold propellers. They come off quickly, especially after you've installed them a few times. Manufactured by Autel specifically for the EVO2 so you can be assured it will fit exactly as it should. All in all, a good product that can save you from swapping out props or, at worst, ATV parts.
