I have an 8lb Cairn Terrier/York Poop and he fits easily in this tote. I liked that there were holes in the front and top, as well as a hook for her leash so she could stick her head out to look around when I was carrying the pack in the front. We visited a nature reserve where dogs are not particularly welcome. However, I zipped all the pockets and put them on the back. The staff couldn't believe there was a dog and said she can come with us as long as she stays in the pack. We also had a picnic outside. I turned the backpack on its side and unzipped it, and it became a sort of little tent for her to relax in.
