This product is amazing. I love using this product because it really brightens the complexion by killing dead cells. I guess I just notice that dark spots go away after shaving. (African American skin here / tan skin, razor warts turn black after healed) I was what you would call sensitive skin because various products would burn my face and I believe this product will too, but here is how i use it. First, prior to this product, I made my face healthier and stronger by moisturizing twice a day with St. Ives Black Head Clearing Scrub, then Neutragena Alcohol-Free Toner, and then Palmer Cocoa Butter Lotion. I've been doing this for several months and it's also a great way to keep your face looking fresh and healthy. After that, I needed a citrus toner to get rid of the dark spots. I decided to try ELF Supertoner because a friend had it and I liked the smell after the first use. I wash my face with either St. Ives or Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser, I dry my face and then apply ELF Supertoner and wait for it to air dry, then I NEED TO MOISTURIZE. Especially if you have sensitive skin. My favorite moisturizers are NatureWell Clinical Brightening Vitamin C Moisturizer or good old Palmer's Cocoa Butter Lotion (thicker to soften skin). I like to apply all of these products, even the moisturizer, in a circular motion as if rubbing in section by section. Take the time to do something, patience is key and it will pay off in the long run. And keep trying different things until you find the shelf that suits you. I learn by failing and trying again. *Also, I strongly recommend that you keep the ELF product out of direct sunlight only. or any tonic with alcohol for that matter. I love using Neutrogena's alcohol-free toner with NatureWell's Illuminating Moisturizer during the day. I hope this helps some of you who are having trouble. If it works on a sensitive black face, it can work on any face as long as the guidelines I've outlined are followed.
