I have a huge ragdoll that towers over most scratching posts. This two-piece tower was the perfect solution. The base is large, giving my cat enough room to stand on while scratching (it also keeps the stand from tipping over during use). The bar itself feels pretty solid. I sometimes tighten the center hinge because it can loosen a bit over time, but the sections never came close to falling apart. The little stuffed animal tied to the lid was cute, but it was soon torn down and now lives among the other floor toys in the house. Also, the pin has proven to be durable and popular with cats big and small. It doesn't take up much space and I can move it out of the main area when company comes over and I don't want to "cat chic" decorate it. I would highly recommend it to others.
