Hot flames, popping sounds, the smell of burning electronics
My MacBook Pro produced 80-90 watts for an hour. I read reviews about it getting hot so kept an eye on it. It got hotter and hotter to the point where it was unbearably hot. I have an IR thermometer and I measured 160ยฐF on the case. About an hour later I heard a pop/hiss similar to a condenser vent. I could smell burning electronics. It still delivered full performance, but I unplugged my laptop because I didn't want to risk damaging it. 160ยฐF on the case means the electronics inside were much, much hotter. i give it back
