Don't let this 3 star rating fool you, I love these glasses! Just got my second order of these today but broke one of my old ones today trying to take the cap off. Certain breakage, a few large pieces of glass and the rest of the glass is intact (though now unusable). If anyone has a reliable way to break the vacuum seal without breaking the glass please let me know. The seal is very tight, do not tear with your hands. When I was younger they made pickle can openers that served the purpose well, T-shaped with a flat shaft about half an inch wide that fit under the rim of the lid. A twist of the rod could effectively open the lid without hurting the jar or your hand, but I haven't seen anything like it in over sixty years. Be that as it may, these cans are well made and attractive. They are easy to clean and have a good volume. I'm very happy to have them in my kitchen, but I wish the manufacturer had included one of those old-fashioned pickle openers in the glass box. If the glass hadn't broken today, the rating would have been five stars. Thank goodness borosilicate glass is strong enough not to break!
