Description of 🔧 Enhanced OTC 4554 1/2" Drive Torque Angle Gauge

Required when servicing many late model engines that use torque-to-yield fasteners. Measures angle of rotation after pre-torque in torque-angle applications. The 360 degree scale is marked in 2 degree increments and intervals of 10 and 30 degrees. Easily zeroed for next application by turning the tool housing. Has 1/2" male and female square drives.

Do not buy!: Tool kits

I will not buy again. I usually read reviews and judge by them. But that wasn't one of my common sense demands. It's thin and may not work as expected. OTC makes good specialty tools, but this is by far the worst. The port shipping could be 1 better. Buyers should pay attention when precision is required. And I'm sure it is.

Worked after assembly after the collapse.

Retaining ring fell off halfway through installing the first of two heads on my Chevy V8. It took a few minutes to assemble the block and install the retaining ring in place. After I assembled it, the tool worked as advertised. As a side note, I hate torque for loosening fasteners, but this tool made them easy to install.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Out of style

It's cheap and tricky

I had to rebuild the head so I got this to tighten the head bolts. It was very difficult to align the pin to hold the sensor in place and I ended up just rotating the whole block and using the reference point on the block. If you value accuracy, get a torque wrench with an angle sensor. Don't waste your money on it

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Not bad

Definitely wrong

Possibly the worst tool I have ever ordered from Revain. Didn't work at all, and even if it did I would seriously doubt its accuracy given how much everything flexes before rotation occurs. No instructions so I had to make sure it wasn't operator error when it didn't work, which took a long time to convince me it was just a poor quality tool. Saved me about 2 hours if I had spent a little more money on a better quality angle sensor.

Pros
  • One year trial

  • Negative gift

how much is your engine

This thing is deceptively spooky. After tightening my fourth connecting screw, I noticed that I turned some of them more (just over 0.30 degrees) than others. Then I called a friend to turn around when I saw the outlet move. Sometimes it was 30 degrees before the base started to rotate (yes, it was properly attached to the anchor), and other times the base rotated noticeably when it was still at zero degrees. Sometimes it worked perfectly. So if you want to guess whether or not your $1000+…

It's about to break!

Anyone purchasing this unit is likely dealing with torque limiting fasteners and is extremely concerned about accuracy. Having bought it for my LS (5.3) restoration, I have to say that this is pretty much the most ridiculous "tool" I've ever used. The concept is solid, but we initially found that it required two people to get the job done. one to hold it still and the other to actually turn the key (but only after preloading to ensure semi-accurate readings). We quickly learned that the person…

Great tool for the price

Not a bad little tool for the casual mechanic. I brought heads back to my Suburban and needed a torque meter for the head bolts. With the engine in the vehicle, the tool was very difficult to use due to the lack of space and the odd angle I was at. Other than that, the tool is easy to use and can't be a downside for the price. For the casual mechanic, this will do just about any job you can have. The set screw would be much more secure if it and the body were quality steel, but then it wouldn't

Pros
  • Great overall performance
