This thing works great! Yes, the plastic is a bit flimsy as other reviewers have said. So what?! It sits there and works way better than I expected. I work in a shop with no air conditioning and no insulation. Usually from June to September it is more than 100 degrees. We are currently at or above 100 degrees for over 30 consecutive days. Right now it's 100 degrees as I type this. I put this fridge under the table facing me and it keeps my legs nice and cool down to my arms and neck. My feet are too cold at the moment. For reference, I used to have a small LG portable AC under my desk ($350). This thing just chilled my crotch. When it was 100 degrees or more here, the AC would overheat and the AC would cycle on and off until I left work (about 2 or 3 hours). So it goes from cold air to hot air blowing on me. It's also getting worse. Usually cold about 2 minutes, hot about 10 minutes. It's not pleasant. The dry air conditioning and hot air blown on me meant my contact lenses were always dry and I had to use clear eyes several times a day. My hands were glued to the table while typing because I was so hot and sweaty. It's terrible. What I like most about this fridge is that it gives me more energy while keeping me cool. Every summer I would come home at the end of the day exhausted after sitting in the heat all day. This was with the portable air conditioner running. Since I have this evaporative cooler, I no longer feel overwhelmed at all. I can go home and I'm willing to do some more housework if needed. This is definitely one of my best purchases. The idea originally came to me when I walked into a shop where this worked in the living room. The front room was about 25 feet by 25 feet and had two open doors leading to different corridors. They checked their thermostat and told me that this device lowered the room temperature by 10 degrees. It was nice and cool in there, and I'm sure it's a lot cheaper to turn on the AC to cool the room down another 10 degrees.
