Sent back. Yes, it's under $20, but there's a point where something's made too cheaply when it doesn't work for what it's made for. The aluminum is too thin to support much weight without bending over. The knobs do not tighten enough to prevent the sections from sliding down under heavy weight. The thread at the top is smaller than standard. I bought it to hold a small LED light but (110V, no battery) but it couldn't support it. Pay a little more and buy a stand that actually holds the light. This holds the reflector, but that's all you need for a photo studio. One more note. If the sections don't stand up well to the little LED light when brand new, I'm sure they'll be useless for a while after a few months of using the light!
