We gave up our diaper spirit after just a few months because it was too smelly. We've taken to using dog poop bags and putting a diaper in one of them and tossing it in a grocery bag that we keep in the garage (then throw it away when it's full). It's basically the same concept as dog poop bags, but they have handles so they might be a little easier to tie, but not by much. After buying and trying, my favorite thing to do is use dog bags as they come in roll form and are easier to store near the changing station. Either way, they get the job done and are a great alternative to expensive and useless diaper gins. FYI, I didn't notice any smell, so if that's what you're expecting, don't get your hopes up. Dog scented sachets have never really helped either.
