This is a good yo-yo but my 9 year old struggled to get it back to address and in hand. I tried it and said you're right it won't come back. At first I thought they set the wrong direction, but it's not. So I put in replacement rubber washers and the problem was solved immediately, a little tug and the yo-yo was back. Otherwise it was a great yoyo. For my boy I cut off half of the spike to shorten it a bit otherwise he would fall to the ground when he tried to use the yo-yo. I bought a different brand yoyo and it is much more responsive than this one, so pairing a few stars makes this yoyo a bit more difficult for beginners.
