Review on πŸ”‘ 2PCS Keyless Entry Remote Control Key Case for Lexus ES GS GX IS LS LX RX SC - Fob Cover Case Without Blade by Chris Russell

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This product did exactly what was described. And it had a gold logo under the band.

This is a new shell in case your factory key's old plastic shell cracks or breaks rendering it unusable (or difficult to use). You need to detach the "blade" (metal piece) from the factory key's molded plastic housing that surrounds its end, insert the blade into the new plastic rosette, move the electronics from the old key to the new key housing, fit the two sides together, screw in , finished. Oh, if you like the gold Lexus logo, remove the black tape from it so you can see the logo. The black tape matches the color of the plastic so many people don't even know it's there. For all of the above, this product worked great and I am very happy with the result. It appears to be the same quality of plastic, the blade fits very snugly into the plastic cap and when the key was assembled it looked much better than my original key before it broke and worked exactly the same. If you are reusing a key blade from a duplicate key (i.e. not the OEM Lexus factory key that came with the car), the key blade may not be exactly the same size and shape as the factory blade, so it may not be perfect. fits (I noticed that some reviews indicate that it is not snug fitting). No one can make a product that is perfect for every blade design from every supplier. But I had a Lexus factory key and it was just perfect. Quite difficult to get all the way back in place but it fits perfectly and because it was difficult to get it all the way in it stays really tight. I would suggest if you have a double edged blade that you plan to reuse and it doesn't quite match the finish, consider filling any gaps with epoxy and letting it dry fully before use so it's firm and hard. To remove the old plastic casing from the original blade, I also used metal scissors in the corner to trim the plastic from the blade. Worked great and fast on both sides, one pass each side. Just don't cut into the metal blade. You simply scrape off the plastic, usually with metal scissors. One scissor blade scrapes the plastic, the other is at the base (body end) of the key blade. Finally, I don't see any way with this product to make the key stop working, damage the door lock, etc. It's just a plastic case and in my case it was exactly the same size and shape as the original case covered the same area as the original area on the factory blade etc. It was the right size to accommodate the remote control electronics, it left about 2-3mm of the blade visible when inserted into the door lock or ignition etc.
