Review on ❄️ Enhance Cooling Efficiency with Four Seasons 39044 Expansion Valve by Mike Skinner

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good direct replacement, read the tips.

1) The o-rings in the kit are too thin, I couldn't use them, I replaced them with thicker ones, just like the old valve. 2) The original valve has two round plastic adapter rings pointing to the bottom and top of the evaporator block, you must carefully remove these from the old valve and install them in the new valve, these plastic rings guide and center the flat gasket. (Replacement valve comes without plastic rings) 3) The supplied gasket is fine, I have had no problems with that 4) When removing the old valve you may have an electrical defrost sensor held in place by a plastic hex screw, be careful when removing. Remove the green label covering the same hole in the new valve. You may need to press the sensor a little harder, the hole is filled with white caulk. The end of the probe looks like a nail, do not bend it. Don't worry either, the sensor is a probe for the valve block, the hole in the dipstick is a blind hole, it doesn't communicate with the refrigerant passages, so there's no chance of refrigerant leaking through this hole. 5) In contrast to the original valve, this one is adjustable. Although it is recommended not to mess with it; Unless you have experience and know what you are doing. Opening the valve may allow liquid refrigerant to enter the compressor. The valve must already be calibrated at the factory.

Pros
  • Expansion valves and parts
Cons
  • Not all will fit
