The properties of a real mailbox are excellent. Good size as a viewing window. It's not that someone can't come in if they want, but they can't just go and just pick up the mail. Unless you have a very smart postman who never puts large flyers and junk mail in the bottom slot. He just takes all the mail and lays it so it's sticking out of the top of the mailbox, saving us from having to use our key to get the mail. Nice of him, right? After seeing this non-design feature, I probably should have bought something to stupidly prove the actual delivery and not the box it came in.
